Introduction:
In his daily life people are using vehicles for all their needs. The bike in particular is increasingly used by people. Especially in the world so far more than 2 billion people use the bike. More than 5 billion people are expected to use this bike by 2050 . In India nearly 300 million people use the bike. More than 400 million people are expected to use this bike by 2050.
The use of petrol as fuel in the bike is increasing the pollution to make the bike more usable. About 2 million people die in India due to air pollution.
People do not have much awareness about this.
But E-bike(Electric Bike) was introduced to control the pollution, but there is no separate place to charge the electric bike. Thus the E- bike (Electric Bike) can be charged only at home. This process is very expensive. Ethanol bike is more effective than E- bike. So more company are starting to manufacture the Ethanol Bike.
What is ethanol:
Ethanol is an organic chemical compound. It is a simple alcohol with the chemical formula C2H6O. Its formula can be written by CH3-CH2-OH or C2H5OH, and is often abbreviated as EtOH. Ethanol is a volatile, flammable, colorless liquid with a characteristic wine-like odor and pungent taste. Today in India, 10% or 20% of Ethanol is mixed with petrol in Automobile.
Ethanol Production:
Ethanol is a domestically fuel most commonly made from corn. It is also made from cellulosic feedstocks, such as crop residues and wood
though this is not as common. US ethanol plants are concentrated in the Midwest because of the proximity to corn production. Most ethanol in the United States is produced from starch based crops by dry or wet mill processing. Nearly 90% of ethanol plants are dry mills due to lower capital costs. Dry-milling is a process that grinds corn into flour and ferments it into ethanol with co-products of distillers grains and carbon dioxide.
In India, Sugarcane molasses is the primary source of ethanol. Fermentation may also utilize starches from potatoes, corn, wheat, and other plants to produce ethanol. In India, the ethanol production was around 335 litres in 2021. Uttar Pradesh has emerged as the largest ethanol producing state in the country. A total of 58 crore litres of ethanol was produced by 54 distilleries ( A distillery is a place where whisky or a similar strong alcoholic drink is made by a process of distilling ) established across the state. The Mumbai and based Bajaj Hindusthan sugar Ltd (BHSL) is India largest sugar and ethanol producer.
